Before + After Your Appointment

Did you know…
Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures. Don’t worry — they will lighten up about 40-50% over the 2 weeks following your appointment.

PRE-PROCEDURE
Here are a few pointers that will help you prepare for your permanent makeup appointment:

  • Plan to arrive at your appointment with NO makeup on.

  • Do not workout strenuously 24 hours before the procedure.

  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before the procedure.

  • Avoid sun and tanning TWO WEEKS prior to the procedure.

  • Do not take Ibuprofen, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Aspirin 24 hours before the procedure.

  • Try to avoid Aspirin/Ibuprofun products for 7 days prior, but a minimum of 24 hours is required.

  • Have your brows waxed/groomed at least 1 week before. No brow waxing or tinting within 3 days of your appointment.

  • NOTE: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle and may have more discomfort.

AFTERCARE
Get the most out of your PMU!

  • NO water, cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on the treated area for 10 days.

  • 4-5 hours after the procedure, clean the treated area gently with sterile bottled water and a cotton pad or gauze, and allow it to air dry.

  • DO NOT rub, pick, pull or scratch at the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks.

  • Avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days.

  • NO facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

LONG-TERM CARE
Use a good sunscreen on your eyebrows if you plan to be in the sun for prolonged periods of time. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics

If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics.

The use of RetinA/Tretinion or any other rapid skin exfoliation products regularly will cause the permanent makeup to fade prematurely.

Contraindications & Limitations
Permanent makeup is not recommended for clients who currently are/have:
Pregnant or Nursing | Diabetic | In Chemotherapy/Radiation Treatment | Epileptic | Pacemaker or Major Heart Condition | Organ Transplant | Skin Irritations (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, rashes, sunburns, acne) | Bacterial or Viral Illness or Chronic Condition |
Botox or other cosmetic injections within 2 weeks | Used Accutane in the past year

Additional Considerations
Antacids, thyroid, and anxiety medications have been reported as sometimes interfering with permanent makeup — either by affecting the pigment retention or shifting the pigment to an undesirable tone. This may cause a client who takes such medications the need for more frequent adjustments or touch-ups to their permanent cosmetics.important! please read!
